Thursday - July 31
Begin arriving at the Valley View Lodge in beautiful Townsend, Tennessee
Settle in to rooms, meet and greet other Trixie Campers, look around the small town, swim in one of the three pools, or just take a nap.
Cookout dinner of burgers and hotdogs with all the fixins.
Ghost stories, songs and fun around the campfire... s'mores, too, natch!
Friday - August 1
A tour of the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center (with the possibility of a mock archaeological dig).
Meet back at the Clubhouse (the pavilion meeting room at Valley View) to pick up your boxed lunch.
Free time for shopping in Townsend/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg OR horseback riding, hiking, or exploring in Cades Cove.
Naturalist-led hayride at dusk in Cades Cove.
Late buffet dinner at the Clubhouse.
Saturday - August 2
Cross the mountains into North Carolina with brief stops at Newfound Gap (state line, beautiful views) and Oconaluftee Visitor Center and Living Farm Museum.
Lunch in Cherokee, North Carolina
Tour of Oconaluftee Village in Cherokee, NC.
Free time in Cherokee
Dinner in Cherokee
Attend the outdoor drama Unto These Hills.
Sunday - August 3
Packing up many memories, saying farewells, but before heading home, discussing.....
